New invention makes campers stand out
Going camping is a fun way to spend quality time with family and friends. Ronald T. was camping one day and began toying with the wires and lights of his camping trailer. Since everyone at the campground tries to be creative with their lights, his tinkering led him to come up with the Turner Camper Plug. "It was the summer of 2004," recalled inventor Ron T. "Everybody liked it and wanted to know how to do it." This innovative product activates the tail light of a camper without the hassle. The Turner Camper Plug safe and easy to use. Its unique design is sure to have everyone talking at the campground... and it did. After realizing he sparked other campers' interest, the 36-year-old inventor called Invent-Tech in Florida, which he learned about through television viewing. This original idea is now being made available for licensing to manufacturers interested in new product development, especially in the camping accessories industry. "They'll market it for me at trade shows and try to find manufacturers to buy my idea or help me develop my idea," Ron said.
He is hoping to have the Turner Camper Plug in full production and available to the public within the very near future. In the meantime, it has a patent pending which is good for two years. "They don't give a patent unless there is a manufacturer," he said. At the end of the two years, he can renew it if a manufacturer has not been obtained. Ron, a truck driver for 11 years, said he knows how to do wiring and mechanical work. He also likes camping, fishing and hiking. anything outdoors. He is in his fourth year serving as a camper host at a local state park. "We help people set up things and help with the outdoor theater about every weekend in the summer," he said. He and his younger brother became interested in the state park volunteer work through a neighbor who also works there on bicycle repair. "My Neighbor and I have a 32-foot Starcraft camper we bought in 2001," Ron said. Other family members will be joining them there this summer in a pop-up camper
